How to Bleed Lewis Brakes from our good friend BK!

Hey guys. BK Here. I just wanted to run you through the best way to remove all the air from a Lewis LH4 or LHT brake lever.

So basically, due to the profile of the underside of the diaphragm, it is very easy for you to get trapped up underneath.

Also, due to the position of the bleed port on the reservoir, it is very easy for you to get trapped up just above it.

You need a syringe for this, and also a blade handle.

Makes it a lot less awkward then trying to do this procedure with the lever touched to the hand bar. So it's really important to rotate the lever forwards to free, and you trap air that's sitting up underneath the diaphragm.

And also tilting the lever back, just to make sure there was no bubble seeing just above the bleed port.

Now basically just continue that procedure of rotating, tilting, flicking the lever, small pushes and pulls on the syringe, just to encourage the area.

They're just keep on continuing that procedure until there's no air left in the lever.

But just a few tips to wrap this up.

It's really important to have the bleed block in place in the calipar just to regulate the fluid volume in the system.

Also make sure you have the contact adjuster on the lever wind all the way out.

And just before you release the syringe, I would also just create a bit of pressure on the syringe, just to make sure there's no vacuum in the system.

But just as a precaution, or wrap a rag around the haze here, undo the syringe from the hose at the top, just to neutralize any pressure or vacuum. You don't want to suck air back into the lever. When you remove the syringe, reconnect the syringe to the highs.

Then when you release the syringe, feeding of the lever, the fluid level should be neutralized in just sitting flash, ready for the bleed port plant to be reinserted.

Cheers.
